I’m interested in one of your courses, where can I find more information?

Thank you for your interest in our upcoming course. In order to apply, please fill out a short Application Form and send it back to us – the courses have a limited enrollment policy to maximize participant experience so the sooner the better. You will be contacted by us within 5 working days of receipt of your application.

Once I am accepted, how do I pay the tuition?

There are two payment options, either by credit card or by wire transfer; a description of both can be found in the Payment Options under the Enroll section of the Web site. Additional details will also be sent in your admission letter.

Are there any pre-requisites for attending a course?

There are no pre-requisites as such, other than an interest in the subject area and completion of an Online Application. Our courses are conducted in English and assume that all participants have the equivalent of a college degree. The courses are limited enrollment to maximize participant experience.

Do I need a visa to visit Costa Rica?

If you are from the USA, Canada, México or the European Community, you don’t need a visa to enter Costa Rica. Upon entry you will recieve a tourist visa that is valid for 90 days.

If you are not from any of those countries, please visit Costa Rica’s official External Relations website. If your country does require a visa we can assist you in the process. However, you will need to directly submit your visa application.

Where is UPEACE located?

UPEACE is located west of the country’s capital, in Ciudad Colon, on a campus in El Rodeo, situated on 300 hectares of protected land surrounded by nature and just 30 minutes drive from San José International Airport.

Is there a way to get to UPEACE from San José without a car?

Yes there is, when enrolled in a Centre’s course, you can ride the free UPEACE buses. They run once a day from San Pedro area and get to UPEACE at 7:55 am. They return the same way leaving UPEACE at 4:30pm. Taxis are also reliable and relatively inexpensive.

My English isn’t high intermediate, do you think this will be a problem?

Your English level will probably be fine for the course – all classroom activities and readings are conducted in English, even when English is a second language for most of the participants. Before your admission we will conduct a short phone interview and can address any concerns you may have.
