Mohit Mukherjee is the Founding Director of the UPEACE Centre for Executive Education. He is also the founder of Changemaker International, an organization focused on enabling youth to gain the skills to be social innovators. He has also served as Vice President of Programs for Watson U, the first incubator leading to a degree for next generation social entrepreneurs. Prior to these positions, Mohit Mukherjee served as Education Program Manager of the Earth Charter Initiative, a global movement of organizations and individuals promoting sustainable development. Mohit earned his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University in 1995 and did his Master’s at the Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2002. He currently resides in Florida.
Meltem Ersoy facilitates the Skills for Effective Negotiations course. She is currently an adjunct faculty at Okan University. She has taught classes on Conflict Resolution Practice, International Conflicts and Conflict Resolution, American Foreign Policy, Modernization and Problems and Issues in Turkey Politics at Sabancı University, Okan University and Boğaziçi University. Her academic work specializes in Turkish politics, transformation of political parties, political Islam and conflict resolution. She received her PhD in Political Science from George Mason University with her dissertation entitled “Political Crisis and Party Transformation”. Meltem coordinated the Contemporary Turkey at a Glance II Conference and co-edited the publication under the same title. She worked as a project manager for the Political Party and Electoral System Reform in Turkey, coordinated the Strengthening the System of Checks and Balances in Turkey through Constitutional Reform project and co-organized the Young Turkey Young America Program at Istanbul Policy Center. Meltem is a freelance writer on literature, and a blogger.
Miguel Tello facilitates the Mission Impossible? Measuring Outcomes & Impact course. He is the Director of The Strachan Foundation, a family foundation that supports education and health projects throughout Central America. Miguel offers workshops on monitoring and evaluation for grantees in Central America. In addition, Miguel is the Director of the Center for Restorative Practices in Central America, an affiliate of the International Institute for Restorative Practices. He offers restorative practices training and consulting to a variety of NGOs, schools, churches and criminal justice professionals in Central America. He holds master’s degrees in public policy and international studies from the University of Washington in Seattle. He is originally from Mexico, but has lived in the US, Brazil and Costa Rica. He speaks Spanish, English and Portuguese fluently. He lives in Costa Rica with his wife and two sons.
Heather McCuen facilitates the Social Media for Social Innovation course. She is a Writer and Digital Media Strategist, specializing in social media narratives for advocacy and crowdfunding strategies. After a decade in the private sector, she earned her Master’s Degree in Media, Peace and Conflict Studies from the United Nations mandated University for Peace, and is both an alumna and professor of the School of Authentic Journalism in Mexico. She holds an Executive Certificate in the Advanced Study of Nonviolent Conflict from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy’s FSI program (in association with the International Center on Nonviolent Conflict) at Tufts University, and her teaching focus is on leveraging online media tools to effect meaningful and innovative social change.
John Hardman facilitates the Regenerative Leadership course. He is a faculty member in the Department of Educational Leadership & Research Methodology at Florida Atlantic University, where he teaches Master’s and Doctoral level courses in school administration and qualitative research. He is the departmental liaison to the Palm Beach County School District, and the Chair of the College of Education’s Diversity Committee. John is also the founder of Regenerative Organizations, a process consulting firm that specializes in helping civic and corporate leaders facilitate the shift of their organizations toward sustainability and regenerative practices. He is the author of ‘Leading for Regeneration: Going beyond Sustainability in Business, Education, and Community’ (Routledge, 2012), which is based on his doctoral studies, ongoing research, and work with for- and not-for-profit organizations.
Caitie Goddard co-facilitates the Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Social Change course. She is the Co-Founder of GOOD Travel and also works at the intersection of science, technology, and innovation for global development at The Global Knowledge Initiative. She has a BA in Business Administration from the University of Detroit-Mercy and a Master in Public Policy from the University of Michigan. Caitie previously worked with the GVN Foundation as their International Programs Coordinator and cofounded the IC3 Academy and Global Youth Ambassador Program. Caitie currently lives in Washington D.C., United States and has worked in Spain, Uganda, New Zealand and India.
Alonso Muñoz co-facilitates the Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Social Change course. He is an Instructor in the Department of Environment and Development at the University for Peace (Costa Rica), where he also coordinates the Programme in Responsible Management and Sustainable Economic Development (RMSED). He holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Costa Rica and a M.Sc. in Business Administration. He has worked in the private sector as a consultant and as an entrepreneur, and has volunteered on various national and international projects regarding peace education, migration, environmental impacts of systems, and Social Enterprises. He is a novelist, a blogger, a peace advocate, an entrepreneur and passionate about social and environmental development.
Kristen Palana facilitates the Designing Your Life: Innovating from the Inside Out course. She is a multimedia artist based in Yangon, Myanmar where she is also an Associate Professor of Digital Media at American University of Myanmar. She co-founded and directed the Film and Digital Media Program at The American University of Rome in Italy where she also taught from 2006-2016. Kristen is a dual American/Portuguese citizen and has offered art, communication, social activism, and multimedia courses in Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America. She also teaches online to over 35K students from over 165 countries through various e-platforms. Her work is exhibited internationally and online and has received a number of awards. Kristen received her MFA from Pratt Institute in Computer Graphics and Interactive Media and also holds a BFA in Painting from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Kristen’s number one goal is to help ordinary people do extraordinary things. Through her artwork and teaching activities, she strives to promote positive social change and to foster a sense of social responsibility in her students.
Stephanie Knox Steiner facilitates the Educating in Changing Times: Reflect, Rethink, Rebuild course. She is a peace education professional based in San Diego, California, where she teaches courses on peace, nonviolence, justice, sustainability, human rights, and service learning at San Diego City College and Chapman University. In addition to her classroom teaching, she serves as the Director of Education for the Metta Center for Nonviolence and as the Peace Education Program Coordinator at Teachers Without Borders (TWB). She earned her Master of Arts in Peace Education from the United Nations-mandated University for Peace in Costa Rica, and her Bachelor of Arts in Environment and Development from McGill University in Montreal.
