Three Insights

June Newsletter

I’m back after my 3-week “mini-sabbatical” (see May newsletter). I took a lot of notes in my blank notebook. I tried some new things, though not everyday. I reached out to people who I wanted to reconnect with, but not as many as I would have liked to. Yes, it was way too short, but no, I don’t regret any minute of it.

I had three insights during this period that I know will have a multiplier effect:

  1. I have lot of say in directing my own life. However, if I don’t take time to pause and reconnect with the “Why am I doing what I’m doing?”, the road can begin to feel long.
  2. The things I complain about are because I decide to grumble about those things rather than change them.
  3. I can give myself permission to ‘slow down’ whenever I need or want. (This was my first ‘sabbatical’ but it is not going to be my last)

It is with renewed creative energy that I am finishing the design for the Centre’s new online course, ‘Educating in Changing Times: Reflect, Rethink, Rebuild‘ which starts Monday. It’s time to get busy again!
